Meet Mercedes Hachuel, a dynamic and creative Production Designer and Set Decorator member of IATSE local 44. Hailing from the vibrant city of Caracas, Venezuela, Mercedes brings a rich tapestry of multicultural influences from her Moroccan and Spanish heritage to her craft. This unique blend infuses her work with an electrifying mix of eclectic, powerful, and brilliantly detailed compositions, making her a true maestro of creating captivating cinematic worlds.
Mercedes track record speaks volumes about her dedication and prowess in the industry. From her recent ventures like the enthralling The Chi Season 4 for Showtime, the captivating movie “Starfish” for Hulu, to the rib-tickling Netflix special “Death to 2020” featuring A-listers like Samuel L Jackson and Hugh Grant, she's been setting the stage for success. Let's not forget her stellar nomination from the Set Decorators Society of America (SDSA) for her outstanding work! But wait, there's more!
Mercedes also lent her magic touch the Oscar-qualifying project The Astronaut, which took audiences on an unforgettable journey, and not to mention her collaborations with bigwig brands like Doritos, Sprite, Coca-Cola, Avis, Starbucks, Call of Duty, among many others. She's even left her imprint on the music world, working her wonders in music videos for Selena Gomez, Rosalia, The Weeknd, and Luis Fonsi. Crisscrossing the globe, Mercedes now calls the City of Angels, Los Angeles, her home, where she continues to push boundaries, seeking out bigger, bolder, and more enchanting projects each day.
